As we journey through Lent, you might like to look ahead to our schedule of services which take us from Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday through the events of Holy Week, culminating in the Triduum of Good Friday through to Easter Day.

Palm Sunday – April 13th
10.10am – Blessing of Palms in Market Square and procession
10.30am – Sung Eucharist
5.30pm – devotion for Palm Sunday: Stainer: The Crucifixion (free entry)

Maundy Thursday – April 17th
11am – Chrism Eucharist at which oils are blessed by the Bishop for the use of his clergy, who also renew their ordination vows
7.30pm – Sung Eucharist with Footwashing, Stripping of the Altars and Watch of the Passion

Good Friday – April 18th
9.30am – Choral Mattins
12noon – 1.30pm – Preaching of the Cross
1.30 – 3pm – Solemn Liturgy of Good Friday with Veneration of the Cross

Holy Saturday – April 19th
7.30pm – Easter Vigil and Sung First Eucharist of Easter

Easter Sunday – April 20th
10.30am – Festal Eucharist, Procession and Blessing of the Easter Garden
3.30pm – Evensong and Admission of Choristers with Procession to the Easter Garden
